When we got back from Bass Harbor, it was time for Noah’s 3 year check up.

Lil’ dude started by passing the eye test.

Blood pressure (!?!) normal

Mouth, cleared for more yelling.

Even though every time I say something to Noah, he says “Huh?”, his ears checked out… I’m on to you dude.

Noah weighed in at 27 lbs 8 oz., is 35.25″ tall, and after two shots, all systems are go.

Before little dude knew..

As little dude started figuring it out.

When it was inevitable.

Last ditch effort to break out (..the patches on his arms have numbing cream to make drawing blood a little less traumatic).

Not photographed… trauma. Luckily, Noah recovered well.

Noah measured 31.5 inches tall and weighed in at 21 lbs. 14 oz. That’s 4 oz. less than he weighed 6 months ago at his last check up, but I guess it’s common because kids are more active in the summer.

As I type this, snowflakes the size of golf balls are falling from the sky, and even though I just got back from CO, my stomach aches a little wishing I could be sitting on a chairlift watching this instead of sitting in this uncomfortable chair looking at the snow through wooden blinds. That is today, this post is about yesterday and as you can see, there wasn’t any snow as we set off for Noah’s 18 month check up.

Going to the doctor is a little different now, Noah is starting to figure out the pattern. Cold hands, cold table, shots…

Weight, 22 lb 2 oz. Height, 31.5 inches.

After checking his ears came the shots, no flicks ’cause we needed all hands on deck. After the shots came a lollipop though and things seemed to slowly get better.

Noah weighs 20 lbs. 13 oz. (up from 18 lbs. 6 oz. 3 months ago), is 30.5 inches tall, and the pediatricians office got some great new toys.

Noah’s bib matches the sky outside.

This visit to the doctor wasn’t as fun though. Mainly because Kate (Mom) was at work so she couldn’t join us, but also because Noah wasn’t into it. Last time we visited he loved playing with the paper on the table where they weigh him, this time he just wanted out.

Not even the mirror could distract him.

So Noah sat in my lap for the entire examination, which made it tough to take photos, but he did just fine and even managed to get a lollipop out of the whole deal.

Noah, you needed that flu shot. Don’t be mad…

Let’s go back in time and think about the fun you had before the shot… Remember? You liked the new (fake) aquariums that they put in.

And you liked running around playing with all the toys for once.

Seeing the doctor isn’t so bad…
