The rest of Christmas Day in NH

After a nap from all that present opening, we took showers, and got dressed, ready to tackle the rest of the day.

Then it was time to put some of those presents Noah got to the test.

Mittens work.

Sled and boots work.

A newish Christmas Day tradition up here, fried turkey.

A turkey so good, Mindy needed three forks.

Nate dawg came over for some Wii hunting…

Kate, of course, had special techniques, and a little distraction action by Noah on her leg.

Rocking back and forth trying to mess up moms shot.

It was a long, but fun day for everyone.

Christmas Morning!!

Big day.  Jesus Christ was born, Nana Holt was born, and someone brought us all these presents!!!  Craze.

Noah needed a quick cracker before tearing into the presents.

First one…

BOOTS!!  No more plastic bags!!

Auntie Mindy got a blanket, which is kind of like a Snuggie© but without arm holes.

Kate got a new grill pan, which she loved, but this was her expression for every present.  Genuine excitement with no hint of sarcasm. She has an amazing gift.

“This one is for you Nana.”

“This one is for you Auntie Mindy.”

Mittens!!

Mom was psyched for Noah to open this one.  What could it be?

Might as well dig in.

Puppets!!!

“Are these puppets my presents or yours?”

Nana got a new leather jacket.

The little present was for Grampa.  The big one was for Noah.

A busy morning led to an early nap.

Twas the day before Christmas…

…and we had a 7 and a half hour drive.  Not a passenger was psyched, not even the baby strapped in the back seat and for the first time facing forward.  When all of a sudden a Panera appeared.  Where we ordered some food, and they gave us crazy buzzers to let us know when it was ready.

Fun with soup.

Fast forward to Nana and Grampa Holt’s house where we opened a Christmas Eve gift from Nana and Opa Urban.

There was also a present for Nana and Grampa Holt from Nana and Opa Urban.

Then it was time for supper which was also a great gift.  Mid wintahh lobstahh!!  You getting my drift?  (yeah, I’m still kind of trying halfheartedly to make this rhyme.)

So good.

Visitors from another planet… (I mean another state, Florida).

Moira and Hilary were in town from The Sunshine State on Monday, and they came to Nana’s house (where Noah and I were setting up the new computer) bearing gifts…

Then back to our apt. for some chili and chilling.

Some milk before bed, as Kate gives me an evil eye for not taking more photos, and Moira feigns sympathy for Noah…  or something.

As a bonus, here was the car Monday night (two days after the snowstorm).

Good news is, I dug it out Tuesday.

Getting ready to trudge through the snow to pick up Noah at Nana and Opa’s.

It’s a good thing we don’t have to drive there.  Maybe Noah will dig the car out for me later.

Slobber and the same clothes he wore the day before.

Getting on snowpants.

Opa’s going out too.

Nana thinks we are funny.

We think she’s funny.

Maybe our makeshift boots are funny…

More useless photos of would-be Christmas trees for sale.

The deep stuff is a tough to walk in.

The astroturf is easy to run on.

We met Paul, who was helped destroy the snowman.

Then there was some building…

…and some falling…

…and some running…

..then some sitting.

When we got back home we saw Ryan shoveling the sidewalk.  What a guy.

Then it was time to thaw out, watch some football, and Noah took a nap.
