On Sunday Noah turned 7. Crazy. We had Milo, Nooria, and Savannah over for a small Pokemon themed party. Kate made a great cake. Noah and Savannah sang some strange happy birthday song the whole train ride to Coney Island. Milo and I weren’t into it.
I tried to get them to ride this one.. Noah and Milo went for this one instead.

Ice Skating with Aunt MindyAuntie Mindy, Chilling, Exercise, Friends, Gear, Learning, Psyched, Sports 3 Comments »We had a special guest in mid-November… Aunt Mindy! After hugs, and kisses, and cuddling we took a walk to Prospect Park. Lakeside. Nathan (who plays plays hockey every week and is super good at ice skating and came to heckle) met up with us. Noah’s classmate Lola was there with her sister.
Tag. He’s quicker without those two front teeth weighing him down. Lola giving me ice dancing lessons. A rare fall. Hot chocolate break. Noah hijacked Aunt Mindy’s flashlight. Riding home in Nate’s car. Story time.

Early November, trying to get some time in on the bike before we have to hang it up for the winter. Noah’s not excited. We bike to a rare Saturday morning Hapkido class. A quick stop at home to drop off the bike… …and pick up Mom. Kate took us to the Rubin Museum to learn about sand mandalas. Noah brought his new dinosaur with us. A little meditating. Truth be told, I mainly went on this little outing to test out my new camera, and here is where the overtaxed and undercharged battery on it died. Luckily for you, I still had my phone so I’ll let you know that after sketching for a bit the kids went back to the classroom and made their own sand mandala.
