What’s Memorial Day without a BBQ?

Friends, Holidays, Partying Comments Off on What’s Memorial Day without a BBQ?

Answer: “Monday”.

Ryan and Ellen invited us downstairs for a BBQ with friends.  Lou tried to teach Noah how to play Trouble, Star Wars Edition.

Ryan’s Brother Billy and his oldest daughter Scarlett.

Noah and Rory (Scarlett’s sister).

One of two pregnant women at the BBQ learning how gross little boys who eat rocks can be.

Two pictures stitched together to show Billy trying to rescue a paratrooper caught in a tree.

Thanks Ryan and Ellen!

Memorial Day morning bike ride

The morning of Memorial Day we geared up and took a ride to see what’s up in Red Hook.

Noah’s first day in flip-flops.

The Statue of Liberty from a Red Hook pier.

Someday we’ll get your helmet to fit right Noah.

Heat.

Sculpture as playground.

We stopped by Fort Defiance for lunch.  Fort Defiance is “operated (and its bar is tended) by St. John Frizell” who went to Tulane with Kate (Mom).

Noah’s down for the yogurt.

On our way to the park the other weekend we ran into Evan, Christie (who’s very pregnant, but not in this photo), their daughter Sophie, and their friend.  They had just finished lunch around the corner from our apt.

Sadly, Sophie broke her leg the other day riding her scooter…  Casts make summer tough.

Blue shirt, small waist.

We were in the park to meet up with Benoit, Julia, and their son Louis.  You may remember them from posts such as our first trip to The Brooklyn Children’s Museum.

Benoit and Julia had a party to go to, but Louis didn’t want to leave.

We lingered for a little while before heading back home.

A day of parks

Saturday morning at the Grand Army Plaza farmers market.

Little dude swiped a basil leaf.

Underwood Park.

A nap, some visually boring errands in our old neighborhood, then a quick stop at the W E Sheridan Playground where we bumped into Christina and Ada.

Ada.

It’s gonna be a long, wet summer.

Christina and Kate, working out when we will see each other next.  It wasn’t as tense as it looks.

Dinner at Baci & Abbracci.

Noah giving Sara and awkward hug/nudge when I picked him up from day care.

We were off to have dinner with Andy, Aransas, Savannah and some of their friends.
