Wild Wednesday morning up in Errol NH at L.L. Cote. checking out the famous albino moose.

This place is great.

The mission was to get Noah his first fishing pole.

Flashback to my childhood, my dad tying knots for everyone and getting our hooks out of trees, weeds, rocks, and stumps.

Worms.

First fish!

Later we went up to Milan Hill State Park to check into the yurt we rented for the night.

I never want to leave.

Carrying a wounded hiker through the park.

Nana came up after work and made dinner.

I never want to leave.

Dirtiest dude.

Talking to Aunt Mindy.

My parents brought the filthy one (Noah) down to their house for the night.

Star watching.

I never want to leave.

Tower climbing, crustacean eating

Home.

Milan Hill State Park.

Finding things dropped on purpose.

Grandparenting.

The state park was closed for a little while and when they eventually reopened it they made it more camper friendly. This is one of 4 Yurts they constructed along with 6 (?) campsites with platforms for tents.

Free continental breakfast.

Back at the compound, checking out Nina and Jaspers pond.

A “natural break” at the playground where I went to elementary school.

Jaycee!

Ice cream with no wipes = photo killer.

Later, trapping wild animals.

Dinner.

It was good to be home.

Wild life

Last Sunday, waking up at Uncle Bugs’ house.

Jumping around in the room Uncle Bugs uses to showcase his collection of black boots.

An improvised foot stool is just as good as a regular foot stool.

Those black helicopters we weren’t joking about.

Emmett and Lisa drove out with Declan and Caitlin to hang out with us.

“Salad”

Caitlin!

Feeding the rays.

Not interested anymore.

Everyone look at this gross hat.

Just kidding, they were looking at this gross fish.

This is what it looks like when you fall into the shark tank.

Outside watching a seal show.

More gross Long Island aquatic life.

The butterfly exhibit.

You know those guys!

Uncle Emmett and some freeloaders.

This pretty much sums it up.

In the bird room.

Back at Uncle Bugs’ place for dinner and pie.

I took this when Noah and I were ready to go.

Thanks again for the great weekend Uncle Bugs!

Crashing with Uncle Bugs

Last weekend we drove out to [REDACTED] to see Uncle [REDACTED] (a.k.a., Uncle Bugs). Noah knew we were just going for an overnight so he packed light. Kate, [REDACTED]‘s twin sister, did not pack light.

Quick lunch.

Uncle [REDACTED] has some crazy trees in his backyard. Noah was into the one that was going “beans”.

Walking down to the beach near Uncle [REDACTED]‘s house.

Outlook rock (*not it’s real name).

Noah throwing some rocks.

One of the rocks landed on Kate’s head…

I wish it would have landed on her camera phone taking finger.

Washing Uncle [REDACTED]‘s feet.

…and his Crocs.

[REDACTED] returning the favor.

Uncle [REDACTED]‘s friends Tom* and John* sharing a moment. (*Possibly not their real names.)

The ole “you’re gonna drown” prank.

Twinsies, being told they don’t seem it.

Extreme cartoon watching.

While we sat inside, eating pizza, someone was outside building an intense web.

This guy (or girl) was harvesting moths. It was incredible.

Incredible, and gross, and in a few hours it was completely gone.

Animals loose in the zoo.

Last week I was a chaperone for Noah’s class trip to the Prospect Park Zoo. Before we left, Ms. Yelena briefed the kids on how they should act.

A surfeit of kids making faces into my phone.

A muster of kids on the bus.

A rafter of kids looking at something, I don’t remember.

A cartload of kids look at a congress of Hamadryas Baboons.

A romp of kids try to destroying bird eggs.

A rookery of kids drawing.

Bat anatomy (a group of bats is called a colony, boring).

A shoal of fish getting harassed by a skulk of kids.

Sea lion feeding.

Tseday’s sister. I don’t need a reason.

Then the rain started.

A cackle of kids eating lunch a shrewdness of adults hoped the rain would let up.

Noah C.

The rain didn’t let up. Downpour.

It was a fun/wet bus ride back to school.
