Random flicks from a Saturday

Last Saturday morning.  Joshua Deaner was in town for an art book fair, and Ryan and Ellen invited us down for bagels.  Oliver and his parents Kate and Grant came over too.

Ryan and Ellen’s cats getting creative with their hiding places.

Ryan showed us a slideshow of their recent bike trip (Noah, nonplussed).

When Ryan broke out his Lego collection I knew we had to go.  One more minute and Noah would have turned that thing upside down.

On the drive to Chelsea.

“Noah!  Time to look at some art!”

Later at the playground, stuck finger.

Found bike made gender neutral.

In a moment of excitement, Noah ran up to hug my leg, and caught my camera in his forehead…

Then Joshua’s parents (Ellie and Dennis) and brothers (Rob on the left, and Jon on the right) showed up out of nowhere.  3 of the men in this photo took part in the NYC Marathon the next day.  Joshua was not one of them.  Neither was Noah.

After lunch, back in our ‘hood.

Fun with traffic cones.

Art of day care

Some more scenes from day care.  This is a school bus to help the kids learn each others names.

A detail of Lil’ Dude.

Noah called this piece, “This People”.

Scenes of day care

I still feel like a 16 year old, so seeing my name with my wife’s name, and our son’s name… on a tree… together like this… at our son’s day care…  Grown-up times.

Lil’ dude’s cubbie.

Lil’ dude after a long day of running, singing, eating, napping, and drawing.

New day care means new scenes for our walk to the playground.

Sara was back at the playground after spending a month and half with her grandparents who live in Switzerland.  Good to see her again.

Kids grow up fast.  Soon they will look at trees with their own kids names on em.

We’re almost over adjusting.

Dinner in the park

Noah talks to his mom about his on-again, off-again drama with those second year molars while we wait for some take-out.

See, pain is “off-again” once we get to the park.

I’m psyched to use my flat-pack cups, bowls and plates.

And I’m psyched on tacos.

Heading home.

This is some “art” in the lobby of a fancy apartment building.  If it were up to me, I wouldn’t want statues of bound dudes in my lobby.  Just saying…

Pickling

Kate and Aransas decided to avoid the head by pickling various things the other day.  Noah and Savannah sat quietly in the living room and helped them get started by opening the spices while the mom’s were in the kitchen (don’t look at me, I was in my office with headphones on).

(Our cheap rug still has a yellow stain)

Fast forward 6 hours, and a couple naps later, and here you are pickled products.

Savannah testing out Noah’s crib.

Noah testing out his photo skills.

The whole apartment smelled like vinegar.
