Dinner with Mark, Jen, and Lou

After Noah’s party at day care, we went to check out the new roof deck that Mark and Jen had built on their roof.

Jen brought out a bunch of Lou’s toys for Noah to play with.

Typical Yankee’s fan.

S’mores©.

Thanks for having us over!

A couple Friday’s ago, Noah’s day care class had a little party. An emotional affair mainly for the parents and teachers of course. I was in charge of balloons.

More of me with the balloons.

Noah’s teacher, Ms. Michelle, put together a video recapping the year.

Then there was food.

Mia Mae’s brother Sebastian was there…

…and he was ready to swipe Noah’s cupcake.

Zion’s hand, caught up in a few balloons.

Panda “Monster” (there are monsters everywhere lately).

Sneaky panda monster, just waiting to pounce.

Mommy panda monster.

Super sketchy.

Thanks to Noah’s teachers, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Ella, Ms. Alva, Ms. Jackie (Ms. Tiffany, Mr. Logan, Mr. Robert…) for a great year.

Vacation..

is…

…over.

To make things worse we couldn’t even leave Bass Harbor casually, stopping on the way home to break up the long drive. No, we had to race home to beat a Hurricane. Noah was a champ though, and with no traffic we made it home in just under 9 hours. Just in time for the heavens to open and some impressive rain and wind to rip through our neighborhood.

(Yeah, yeah, yeah.. Noah got my hobbit feet. I know.)

Otter Cliffs, Bar Island, Cadillac Mountain, and this giant cruiseship.

Morning.

This was our last full day on Mount Desert Island, and we were (Kate was) determined to wear us (me) out. We started the day at Otter Cliffs.

A quick lunch in Bar Harbor.

After lunch we walked over to Bar Island. A small island just north of downtown Bar Harbor that you can walk to at low tide.

A Bar Island resident.

This strain of fungi is known as banana-chipis.

The view of Bar Harbor from Bar Island.

From there, we drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest peak on Mount Desert Island.

This sums up our trip.

Check out Bar Island now. The trail/path we walked was to the left, under all that water.

Dinner.

Noah’s 3rd Birthday

Birthday pancakes with wild blueberries.

Wild 3 year olds doing dances for their Nana.

Wild birthday deliveries (they do that in Maine?) from generous Aunt Mindy.

WILD!

It was so wild at the house, that Kate and I went for a hike. Just the two of us. I’ll recap a little.

Our car, growing smaller.

The hike getting steeper.

The view getting better.

The sap, getting sappier (and the bugs, to the left of Kate, getting hungrier).

Our post hike lunch.

Back at the house, wild boy grew another tail.

At the playground in town.

Dinner.

The typical mid-meal distractions.

Dessert!
