Just as Noah and I had settled in and were having a look at all the candy he got at school, Andy and Aransas invited us over to trick or treat in their building. It wasn’t hard to motivate Noah.

Savannah was so excited to see us that she ran around the corner and fell.

In Savannah’s building people just left buckets of candy outside their door. Some people poke their heads out when they hear us outside, but mostly it was a free for all.

Of course, some people smartly left instructions.

Derbs when as Gwyneth Paltrow’s kid… Apple (I got bad jokes for days).

Maxine went as Supergirl.

Amelia

Tragedy struck when Noah’s bag busted.

Then Savannah wrecked again.

Seamus kept it together, even if he took off his costume.

Them girls…

The last raid before we went back to our building.

As we walked up to our apartment, Alexa on the first floor came out eager to give Noah a treat, and as we thanked her Honey came out of her apartment asking us to knock on her door.

Honey had an entire basket just for Noah.

Filled with amazing things like whoopee cushions.

And 3-d Glasses.

Honey even had tricks for Kate and I.

So sweet. Thanks Honey! And thanks to Andy and Aransas for inviting us to trick or treat with them.

Sunday morning we drove up to Connecticut with Nana and Grampa to check out this spot that offered all the great Fall things. A corn maze, pumpkins, hay rides.. live bluegrass…

Goats. Not sure why they didn’t make it on the sign.

I see your pumpkin shortage and raise you a pumpkin launcher! Ballin!!

Andy, Aransas, Savannah, Derby, Scott, Dawn, and Chester piled in a van and met us for the muddiest, bumpiest hay ride in history.

Hay was a hit.

Saying good-bye to Nana and Grampa who had to drive back to NH.

Grandparents are gone, break out the band!

This might have been a slow song.

Chester trying to make some tough decisions.

Derby’s handler.

Storm King

On Saturday Kate rallied us to drive up to Storm King, a sculpture park about an hour north of NYC. It’s an amazing place, especially on a warm Fall day without a cloud in the sky.

Lunch photo by Kate.

The rock wall above, by Andy Goldsworthy has great dimensions, 5 ft by 2,278 ft. If you’ve never seen “Rivers and Tides” I highly recommend it (Netflix has it).

Richard Serra has three or four of these there.

Noah is picking the Buddha’s nose…

Noah and I were really into this Mirror Fence by Alyson Shotz.
