Museum (take 2)

On Saturday we braved the sun and warmer temperatures to make our way to The Brooklyn Museum of Art to finish up where wet pants left us off.

Tipi!

Native American baby cradles from around 1900.

Lunch time.

Trouble.

Mess at the museum

Good morning Mom! Is that video about firetrucks too loud?

After breakfast we hiked up to the Brooklyn Museum of Art in the rain.

Then… a leaky diaper ended our visit.

Noah was probably in heaven though, pant-less with a fuzzy blanket eating crackers? Sounds good to me.

Haha. You like that title? Cheap little jab at my parents, even after they were patient with their grumpy son (me) as we all watched Noah run around the museum excited by everything he saw.

Two precious pearls.

You saw this right?

Such an amazing museum. I have a feeling we’ll get to know it really well.

Snow Day

It’s been a pretty impressive year for snow in NYC.  Last week we got another 14 inches of snow, shutting down Noah’s school (and any work I was going to get done).  Daddy Day Care!!  Below is an account of the conversation I had with Noah over the course of morning.  Enjoy.

“Look how dope it looks outside Noah!”

“Look!  We are going to have to go out there and play around.”

” Bye Kate, have a good day at work!!”

“O.k. Noah, let’s go get ready!”

“What? Aren’t you psyched?!? Look at all the great snow.”

“Look at our car!”

“You’re not psyched!?!?  C’mon!”

“Here, get in this backpack and I’ll show you how great this is.”

“Look at the chains on the garbage truck!”

“Look at the bike!”

“Look at the barbed wire!”

“Look at the balloons!”

“Look at how bummed that car is!”

“Look, a snowboard!”

“Look, sledding”

“Do you want to go sledding? Put on these mittens so your hands don’t get cold.”

(Borrow a sled. Sledding. Camera dragging behind us.)

“Wasn’t that fun!”

“Ok, ok.  How about standing over here, Nana(s) will like this scene.”

“Fine… get back in the backpack…”

Me, “Look!”

Noah, “No look!”

One good thing that came from our adventure? A really good nap for Noah.

In Observance Of MLK’s Birthday

About 2 weeks ago…  No school.  Martin Luther King Jr. Day made it “daddy day care” day.  Starring,

A collaborative creation.

Insert one bus ride and BAM! The Brooklyn Children’s Museum.

We met up with Savannah and Derby, and Chester, and Chester’s friend Paxton at the museum…  It was going to be great.  Noah could run around and play…

Or just be shy for a while…

I brought him over to a section where he could make music.

Once he found the DJ booth he was fine.

There was some great fashion at the museum too.  Like this one piece jumper (overalls?) a girl with short straight bangs was wearing.

Noah liked the dirt, Savannah liked the dolls.

Chester!

Yes Noah, that was a little boy with a pony tail on top of his head.

Modeling for a photographer from The Daily News.

The “auspicious one” as seen through a peep hole.

It was time to go and  Savannah was having a hard time saying good bye to a doll she found.

On the walk home, Noah was over hearing all of us talk I guess.

Thanks to Aransas (Savannah’s mom) for inviting us out and showing up like a champ with lunch for everyone.
