Noah Cardiel Holt | My life according to other people

Yesterday was Noah’s actual birthday, and Kate and I thought it would be good to have just a simple little picnic in the park.  We thought it would be nice to have something easy and welcoming. With help from Noah’s Nana and Opa Urban, who are really good at and enjoy throwing fun parties, we had a picnic plan underway.  A couple of trips to a few mega grocery stores later, they helped throw a really great and bountiful party for Noah – which was located deep in the park, on a mildly humid day, with a chance of rain.  Lucky for Kate, Noah, and me, Mindy was in town and could help us drag our contribution to the party up to the park.

It felt like everyone came to the party on a bike.

Kate and I met at a party Michelle (left) was having.  I was dragged to this party by Tara (right).  They take full credit for Noah being around.

…or is the glass half-full?  Either way, our week in Avon was up on Saturday so we hit the road.  Our destination was D.C. for a night in a hotel before driving back to NYC on Sunday.

Before we got very far, the A/C in the van died…  a collective sigh came from the group.

Noah was psyched on the hotel room.  Maybe it was the carpet, maybe it was the A/C, maybe it was the freedom… or maybe it was the mirror so that he could (open mouth) kiss himself.

The thing about hotels, you never know who’s been crawling naked all over you bed.

Our downstairs neighbors, and long time friends, Ryan and Ellen got married yesterday on Governors Island.  It was a perfect day.
