Thanksigiving Day, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Grampa was feeling better, his appetite increasing every day, so we made our way down to the cafeteria for lunch. (Great) Nana Holt, Uncle Wayne, and Aunt Patty joined us.

Lil’ dude didn’t want to be left behind.

After lunch, roaming the empty hospital.

Yesterday, after 28 days in the hospital, Grampa Holt went home. Such a relief. Thanks to everyone who was pulling for him, and props to Auntie Mindy for spending the last week sleeping on a cot in Grampa’s room, helping out where she could and keeping everyone updated.

Flashback to last Wednesday morning when we woke up in White River Junction, VT. We battled a freak snowstorm in hopes of helping Grampa battle the boredom of bouncing around hospital rooms for almost a month.

Grampa’s last room had the best view.

The doctors encouraged Grampa to walk as much as he could, so that we did.

Grampa’s dob kit. A sign he was going to get out soon, you can’t keep a player down.

Today marks three weeks since Grampa Holt went in to have his gallbladder removed. He should have gone home the same day but his digestive system refused to play nice and got itself into a bind requiring a couple surgeries and a whole bunch of patience. It’s been a long, tough three weeks.

The other night Noah distracted Grampa with a couple stories.

See you (in person) tomorrow Grampa!

Sunday morning we drove up to Connecticut with Nana and Grampa to check out this spot that offered all the great Fall things. A corn maze, pumpkins, hay rides.. live bluegrass…

Goats. Not sure why they didn’t make it on the sign.

I see your pumpkin shortage and raise you a pumpkin launcher! Ballin!!

Andy, Aransas, Savannah, Derby, Scott, Dawn, and Chester piled in a van and met us for the muddiest, bumpiest hay ride in history.

Hay was a hit.

Saying good-bye to Nana and Grampa who had to drive back to NH.

This might have been a slow song.
