Never psyched to leave my parents house, but we had to head back to NYC.

Tough goodbyes.

Not my best flick, but this was a scene I saw almost every day for 18 years.

To make it worse, NYC was a mess.

Nana Holt dressed Noah like Coach Tressel for Christmas. Lil Dude made out pretty well today. Hopefully we can get everything back to NYC.

Noah, Kate, and our friend Michelle went to see the tree at Rockefeller Center last weekend. Thanks Michelle for taking photos (all credit to her).

After chilling with Santa, we met up with the rest of the Urban clan and had brunch. Lisa and Emmett brought a surprise for us.

Lisa is pregnant! Noah’s cousin is due in June!

Time to start picking out presents.

Noah’s day care put on a Holiday Extravaganza on Friday. I tried to walk the line between photographer trying to capture the event, and proud dad encouraging my 2 year old to do his best. I wasn’t alone.

Ms. Carol, the boss.

The 1 year old’s.

Little drummer boys. These are the 2 year olds.

Noah didn’t want to wear the hat (“it’s too big”). Not even during the weeks of practice his teacher said.

The Sugarplum Fairies.

Lil’ Dude forgot to get the bells under his chair.

Spotted.

Taking a bow.

An interlude.

Ryder!

The oldest kids did a medley. This was part of the Kwanzaa dance.

This was a Hanukkah “rap” I think.

The kids and teachers did a really great job. It had to be pretty overwhelming for the kids to have an audience like that.

After the show Nana and Opa had us over for dinner.
