Last Sunday we went over to Governor’s Island to chill and give all three of us more practice at being a family while riding bikes. First thing I learn, it’s really difficult carry picnic/baby gear, and my camera, and take pictures. I’ll get the hang of it.
The first good sign that Noah might be into the bike seat, he fell asleep on the ride from our apartment to Dumbo where were caught the ferry.

Second good sign, tourists.. I mean, smiles.

Noah’s lunch.

My lunch looked better I guess, even though it was pretty much the same thing . (Photo by Kate)

“Noah, leave those people alone.”

Not super psyched to be back on the bike.

Nonplussed.

Touring the island wore Noah and I out. Time to head home.

Vacation must be going well, I am having a hard time remembering what day it is.
We got a different bike, with a different seat for Noah. We also had some books wrapped in plastic bags to see if we could prop him up better.

Make friends with the bike helmet.

After our ride we went down to the beach.

I went to put in my contact lenses on the first day here and one of them was the size of a quarter. I’ve never seen that before, and maybe it was from the flight back from LA, but I didn’t bring a back up pair so I’m stuck wearing my glasses.

A quick nap.

A sandcastle that was left deserted (we didn’t make it, and Noah didn’t want to destroy it surprisingly).

Back to the house, and Nana who was talking to Diane.

After getting cleaned up we went to Jazz Night at a local spot, for some food, drinks, and an epic sunset.

On Friday we set out for NC. Our plan was to take our time, spend the night in Richmond, VA, and then stroll into Avon, NC on Saturday.
First we had to get the van packed, but Opa was on it…

A late lunch. Noah had a few bites of a sour pickle.

Making it to the hotel.

Everyone seemed to be getting antsy. Especially my dad and Noah. They wanted out of the hospital. My dad had been there for a week, Noah was going on his 3rd day.
“Magic sleigh bed!! Take us home!!!”

“Dad, this thing’s broke, how about you take me home.”

“Nana…”

Noah and I went for a walk, he fell asleep and when I turned around I saw people stalking us.

Finally getting to kick that liquid diet for some real food.

Just as we start getting ready to break out of the hospital, it starts to get dark and rain (again).

Finally free, we have to part ways. NYC calls, but hopefully we can get up to NH and see how my dad is doing soon.

After leaving the hospital, Noah slept for 2 1/2 hours.

Must be tough to sleep with light shining on your face.
