Friday was our last full day down on The Outer Banks, and Noah was up bright and early ready for a sleepy walk on the beach.

Rain.

Anne came over in the morning and brought some Apple Uglies. They were amazing.

The beach was great, and hanging out in the house with everyone was fun, but one of the best things I got to do over the vacation was watch the final week of The Tour de France. Noah and his Uncle Tim would watch a little too.

After a bottle and a nap, back to the beach.

For our last night in Avon, we all went out to dinner at Mack Daddy’s, a great resaurant with some amazing local fish.

The sunset (and drinks) helped us forget that we had to wait for a table.

Diane and Anne.

Noah’s Opa and Nana.

Thanks Anne for taking us surfing, showing us around, bringing us Apple Uglies, being patient, meeting Andy, giving us a ride, watching Noah while I would run for something, and just general advice giving. We’ll see you next year for your wedding.

I was on Noah duty Thursday. Kate had to help her mom and Diane get ready for an engagement party that they wanted to throw for Andy and Anne. For some reason I only came away from the day with mostly photos of Noah eating…
…but we will start with a photo of him reading with his mom before she was wisked away.

“High Five” to Uncle Tim on our way to a nap.

Post nap bananas and bedhead.

After bananas, Noah and I went down to the beach for a few hours. I traded my camera for a beach chair, so I don’t have any photos. When we came back Kate was bringing the party together with her wildflower bouquet.

Diane watching Noah for me as he ate some ravioli.

Andy helping Noah’s Opa redecorate for the party, as Tim and Mike Kennedy look on.

The sunset reflected in the house across the street.

Kate socializing.

Noah’s Opa, and Anne’s Godfather, addressing the gathering.

Slow going Sunday morning. The house is comfy and the coffee is good, so no reason to rush.

Tim having a morning smoke.

Kate, Tim, and I decided to go rent some bikes. Noah approved of his seat.

Noah not approving of his helmet.

Anne Kennedy, who lives in Avon, came over to take Tim and I surfing.

(Surfing photos by Kate)

Anne tearing it up. Tim and I a probably drowning somewhere off camera.

On Friday we set out for NC. Our plan was to take our time, spend the night in Richmond, VA, and then stroll into Avon, NC on Saturday.
First we had to get the van packed, but Opa was on it…

A late lunch. Noah had a few bites of a sour pickle.

Making it to the hotel.

The Urban Clan (minus Lisa who was with her own clan) came over to the new apartment yesterday for Mother’s Day. We had a little food, sangria, and champagne before heading over to Red Hook to see the art show that Nana Urban exhibits in (and helps put up).
First to show was Uncle Matt (Kate’s twin brother) who we hadn’t seen since Thanksgiving.

Uncle Emmett’s and the Smart© car he drove.

These are the three remaining pieces that Nana Urban made for the BWAC show. “Red Fish” had sold that morning.

Opa.

A crowd formed, even though Noah was overtired and losing his mind.

Noah chilled out when we got to The Brooklyn Icehouse.

Great sweet potato fries, pulled pork sandwiches, and a view of Uncle Matt’s chili fries.

Noah had butternut squash.

p.s. I love you mom.
